Baltimore Sun - Hairspray

I absolutely LOVE when we see our work published!  Tonight I stumbled upon images of the May Day basket we created for the Annapolis Summer Garden Theater featured in the Baltimore Sun.  Not sure how I missed this.

We designed the basket around their production of Hairspray (On Stage now through September 4th - Call 410-268-0809 for tickets) and included a few fun items like pink foam curlers a wig with a fun "poof" and of course a bottle of Hairspray!

(Visit BALTIMORE SUN to view more images)

May Day in Annapolis is a great way for us to have some fun and play with flowers.  We would love to create AWARD WINNING May Day baskets for more local businesses.  E-mail flowers@intrigue-designs.com for details on Holiday Decorating, May Day Baskets or weekly floral instalations.

Why Hamilton Photography

Quite often clients ask our opinion on photographers and I find myself chatting about the Hamilton's regularly. In fact it seems I talk about them so much clients have wondered if I worked for them.  No, Intrigue does not work for Hamilton Photography.  However, Hamilton Photography is among the best in our industry and we love working with them.  Today I am going to take a moment to tell all of our fans and readers why the Hamilton's are among our favorites.

1.)  They make you smile - Both Mark and Christina have the kind of positive energetic personalities that make you instantly comfortable

2.) They are both artistic and organized - As many of you may have found this is a rare combination and something that is vital.

3.) They are experienced - They have shot at virtually every venue in our area and even a number of Destination Weddings.

4.) They love what they do - This is obvious within moments of sitting in their office.

Visit the Hamilton Photography Website to see for yourself  www.hamiltonphotography.net or call 410-267-6090 to schedule a meeting in thier Annapolis office.

Haruki & Jamie

On Saturday Haruki and Jamie exchanged vows at Lighthouse Sound in Ocean City.  We were delighted to have been selected to design and style the flowers for this wonderful couple.  Melissa spent hours on Jamie's bouquet and it really paid off.  The bouquet is stunning in this sneak peak provided by Shawn Hubbard Photography http://www.shawnhubbardphoto.com/ .  We can't wait to see more.

Winning Design - ISES "Most Innovative

A few weeks ago Silvia from Rentals To Remember came to us asking for help in designing a tabletop for the ISES competition in Washington, DC. Our Theme was Earth Day and we worked together to pull off an award winning table. Thanks to the paper designer Jill Davolio from the Paper Trousseau for helping with the winning design.

WINNER - 2011 ISES Tabletop Competition "Most Innovative"

Paper - Jill Davolio of http://www.thepapertrousseau.com/

Floral Design can be a challenge when trying to be "green" or "eco friendly". However, we rose to the challenge and created a fabulous centerpiece with detailed accents completely out of living, recycled and repurposed items. Look closely to see how we used packing material and branches weaved into an "earth" inspired sphere resting on top of plate glass towers nestled in a bed of earth. This would be a great look for a charity event or corporate party looking to promote sustainability.

Booth-O-Rama

The boys of http://www.booth-o-rama.com/ brought their photo booth to our opening party.  It was a lot of fun seeing people be silly behind the camera.  This booth is a great addition to a party.  I love this photo of the ladies of Behind The Veil holding the flowers we sent home with guests.

Shop Assistant

We are looking for the right shop assistant to become part of our team. Ideally, we are seeking someone strong to help load the truck, process flowers, scrub buckets and do the "dirty work" around the shop while keeping a positive attitude, a smile on their face and having a bit of fun. Hours are 9am - 2pm Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and... weekend hours that tend to change depending on the weddings & events booked.

This is a great job for someone with no floral experience that wants a foot in the door.  Although this is not a design position it does have potential to grown into a design position for the right person.

Amber's AMAZING Aisle

Yesterday at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club we designed an aisle that I have been dreaming about for months.  Thank you to Amber & Nick for selecting Intrigue to create your dream wedding.

This design required nearly 750 Roses and a lot of time.  It was all worth it!  I LOVE the way the starfish plays against the Eastern Shore background.
